Marin County Policy
MCP has been working with the County of Marin for the last several years to complete the Rangeland Compost Protocol for use in local climate mitigation, including mitigation of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions for local projects under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).
In addition, MCP is working with the Community Development Agency to incorporate agriculture and soil carbon sequestration into the forthcoming county climate action plan (CAP). The CAP is currently under revision to include an agricultural chapter; more information will be available soon.
MCP members UC Cooperative Extension and the Marin Agricultural Commissioner’s Office serve as the liaisons to the County of Marin.
